independent sector treatment centre

A general term for a privately owned treatment centre often located on the same campus as the NHS hospital it serves, which provides common elective (i.e. non-emergency) surgery and diagnostic procedures—e.g., hip and knee replacements, cataract surgery, MRIs, etc.—under contract with the NHS.
