(jĕl′sŏl′ĭn)n. A calcium-regulated actin-binding protein that breaks cytoskeletal actin filaments into smaller pieces, thus transforming the actin network (or gel) into a colloidal solution and influencing cell morphology, motility, and apoptosis.
