gas and oxygen

gas and oxygen

Nitrous oxide and oxygen. This is a common general anaesthetic combination but being only mildly anaesthetic, is often used as a vehicle for other, more potent, gases, such as vaporized HALOTHANE, or is supplemented by other drugs. Nitrous oxide usefully reduces pain sensation and gas and oxygen is sometimes used alone to relieve labour pains.
