dive bomber

adjective A descriptive term referring to a sound heard by electromyography that corresponds to a myotonic response-delayed relaxation of the muscle after a maintained contraction or twitch, which is elicited by movement of the needle electrode in the muscle as well as on percussion. In the myotonias (dystrophia myotonica, paramyotonia and myotonia congenita), prolonged trains of potentials occur in response to movement of the electrode.
