A rare disorder of neonatal onset, characterised by delayed umbilical cord separation, leukocytosis and poor wound healing, accompanied by defects in neutrophil adherence, chemotaxis, secretion, phagocytosis and particle-stimulated respiratory burst, which results in severe recurring mucocutaneous bacterial infections that may become systemic.
