A condition described in 1936 as apprehensiveness, increased alertness, anxiety, restlessness, stomach pains and digestive problems in pilots with 1- to 18-years of experience, attributed to prolonged flying in low oxygen environments and the tension of flying. It is of limited validity, as the factors causing it may have been eliminated by pressuring the cabins.
