acomania

acomania

An obsolete term for a specific clinical variant of passive-aggressive personality disorder [DSM III-R 301.84] in which behaviour towards superiors is obsequious and towards inferiors is authoritative.

Because of controversy related to the classification, this condition was moved in DSM-IV to Appendix B for conditions that need further study.
