accountable health partnership
accountable health partnership
An economic or for-profit unit—e.g., physicians considered as an aggregate, or competing hospitals—which was proposed as a key component of the universal health plan proposed in the 1990s under President Bill Clinton.
Accountable health partnerships would contract with insurance-purchasing partnerships to provide standardised packages of medical benefits for fixed per-capita rates; such partnerships would hasten the decline of the fee-for-service form of healthcare reimbursement, and place providers (i.e., physicians, hospitals, and others) at financial risk for their performance.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc.
