absolute hypermetropia

absolute hypermetropia

HYPERMETROPIA of a degree, relative to age, in which clear vision cannot be achieved by accommodation. Thus, a child of 5 with, say, 4 dioptres of hypermetropia may easily see clearly by accommodating; but an adult of 50 with the same refraction could not see clearly without glasses, and would have an absolute hypermetropia of about 3 dioptres.
