A benzodiazepine that is ± 10-fold more potent than Valium Route of administration Oral, pulverised/snorted
Effects Slurred speech, impaired judgement, difficulty walking, sedation, blackouts of up to 24 hours, amnesia, respiratory distress; may have paradoxic effects and trigger aggression. Overdose or death can occur if mixed with other drugs or alcohol.
It is popularly known as the ‘date-rape’ drug.

Rohypnol

A brand name for FLUNITRAZEPAM. This drug has, in recent years, acquired an unpleasant reputation as a means of facilitating rape. It is subject to prescription requirements under the Misuse of Drugs Act and is not prescribable under the NHS.
