A modicum of denatured haemoglobin found in an erythrocyte.

Aetiology
Haemolytic anaemia, NADPH deficiency, G6PD≠glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency exacerbated by oxidant drugs—e.g., primaquine, dapsone, quinidine, chronic liver disease, alpha thalassemia.
