HCAR2

A gene on chromosome 12q24.31 that encodes a G protein-coupled receptor. HCAR2 is a high-affinity receptor for nicotinic acid/niacin and for beta-hydroxybutyrate; it increases adiponectin secretion and reduces lipolysis through G(i)-protein-mediated inhibition of adenylyl cyclase.
