Amoebotaenia

(ă-mē'bō-tē'nē-ă),
A genus of small intestinal tapeworms of birds, seldom possessing more than 30 segments. Amoebotaenia cuneata (Amoebotaenia sphenoides) is a species common in domestic fowl; its cysticercoid form is developed in earthworms.
