(agrĕ-gati-baktĕr akti-nō-mī-sētem-komi-tanz) This is a new name for Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans, not a new entity.
A bacterial species of oral flora in humans; frequently associated with human periodontal disease as well as subacute and chronic endocarditis; occurs with actinomycetes in actinomycotic lesions. A member of the HACEK group of organisms (Haemophilus aphrophilus, Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans,Cardiobacterium hominis, Eikenella corrodens, and Kingella spp.). Also called Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans.
