ADAM1cep24

ADAM1cep24

An ADAMs family protein encoded by ADAM24P on chromosome 8p22, which is a testis-specific plasma membrane-anchored protease on mature sperm. Unlike other sperm ADAM protein family members (fertilin-alpha, fertilin-beta, and cyritestin) whose metalloprotease domains are removed during sperm development, ADAM24 retains an active metalloprotease domain.
