ADAM1aha7

An ADAMs family glycoprotein encoded by ADAM7 on chromosome 8p12.2, which is involved in spermatogenesis. It is transferred from the epididymis to the sperm surface and redistributed in the sperm head during the acrosome reaction. ADAM7 is present in the anterior pituitary and epididymis, but not in other tissues. ADAM7 expression requires androgens and testicular factors.
