A membrane anchored cell surface adhesion protein of the ADAMs family, which is encoded by the non-functional gene ADAM3B on chromosome 16q12.1, expressed in the acrosome of spermatids and spermatozoa, and involved in sperm-egg fusion during fertilisation.
