Amlodipine Cardiovascular Community Trial. A trial assessing sex- and age-related antihypertensive effects of amlodipine.
Conclusion Amlodipine is a safe and effective once-daily monotherapy for mild/moderate hypertension; amlodipine produced a goal BP response (sitting DBP ≤ 90 mm Hg or 10 mm Hg reduction) in 86% of patients, more in women, greater in patients ≥ age 65.
