Q. What are your suggestions?

My sister is quite athletic. She loves to go riding. She is very fussy and irritable otherwise. She was in her 50s when she had a fall from the horse. For the past 5 years, she has been complaining of pain in her knee, upper buttocks, thighs, shoulder and elbow. Initially I thought it was to do with the fall and her age. Now she is having a very bad constipation and feels bloated. This is making her depressed. I will be taking her to a doctor soon. But I feel that she is showing some signs of fibromyalgia. Since all these symptoms point to this problem, what are your suggestions?
A1 A medical doctor is the only one who could figure it all out.

The symptoms could be from arthritis which comes with her age.

Many women begin to have problems with osteoporosis in middle age.

Some medications for cholesterol have side effects with symptoms like you describe concerning pain in lower legs.

As far as depression from the change in lifestyle, she could consider going riding in a buggy with her horse. The riding could help with alleviating stress and help make her life more enjoyable again. Being around horses and animals is good therapy for many people. I know horses like apples and are easy to make friends with. If she has not been out and about with horses lately, some time there could be a very good thing. This is why visiting a zoo is so comforting to many or having a pet.

I don't know if anything in this reply will help anyone. I just had to give it a try.

A2i wouldn't jump to conclusions. there are many things that can cause the symptoms you presented. Fibromyalgia is not a diagnosis that just thrown to the table anytime someone has muscle pain. get you sis to the doctor , and if it's FM- it'll take a while until it'll be diagnosed completely.
A3These symptoms indicate that she fibromyalgia. But once you meet the doctor, the right diagnosis can be arrived at. Her depression, constipation, bloating are linked to fibromyalgia as per her age. Check to see if her concentration is keen. Make sure she does not get tired easily and that her sleep is undisturbed. The sooner you take her to a doctor and check out these symptoms, the sooner she will get better.

Q. Do you have any suggestions for me?

My dad keeps repeating himself the whole time about his past achievements. He goes on and on about how he helped to open a prestigious sports club that had produced many athletes and rugby players. He dwells on the past too much. He will clean the floor several times. He will yell at children sitting at side of the roads. He eats too many sweet things. He does not sleep at night or if he sleeps it’s towards the early hours in the morning. But he does wakes up early in the morning and will start to prepare omelets for us. I don’t know how he gets this much energy to work and talk. But this worries me. Is he heading towards a bipolar condition? Do you have any suggestions for me?
A1how old is he..? Bipolar disorder usually erupt earlier in life if he is more then 50 years old. if he is more then 60- there are others thing i would worry about. does he seems to forget where he is? are some of his stories are not fully true? you probably heard his stories before, anything changed..? if so- i would go to a Dr. and check it up, it might be Alzheimer or some sort. any way it might be best to let a Dr. see him.
A2You must take him to a doctor. Symptoms of bipolar disorders can be confused with many other disorders as well. A bipolar with manic episodes shows symptoms of displays talking in excess and sleep disorders as well. They get excited and hyper about everything. He may have a bipolar disorder, but he has to be treated by a psychiatrist or a neurosurgeon and only after detailed examination can treatment commence. Before diagnosing a bipolar condition, they may try to rule out the possibilities for other probable disorders like schizophrenia or dementia.

Q. Your suggestions please.

Hi everyone! I am happy and doing good. My pregnant wife who in second month gets disturbed due to noise around and she want to relax for some time. I thought of taking her to a Massage Centre but she feels that to be harmful during pregnancy. Your suggestions please.
A1A) Massage for pregnant woman is not at all a problem. Special spa for pregnant women’s is available. Spas can take care of them well as they are specially designed for them. Rather the massage will make her relax and she will feel her skin more enriched and healthy. Some spas do have prenatal massage package, please check with them. It would also be better if she go for some facial and scalp massage to relax.
A2I agree with fatman.
make sure to inform the therapist that your wife is pregnant, and he/she will take care of her professionally, without harming the pregnancy.
Other suggestions for her to be relaxed are : try to moderate a comfort room for her, with soft music and maybe soft aromatherapy, it will help her relax a little bit. and another important thing is: your support really means a lot for her and her baby.
Good luck, and stay healthy always..
A3The massage won't hurt her. Just make sure to take her to a professional place in a respectable location. I did this for my wife and she loved it. Some establishments have special pregnancy packages.

Q. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank You.

I’m a student of the reputed university. I don’t look good due to obesity and I hate to go out with friends. I tried many diet pills but in vain. So I want to try losing weight in a natural way. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank You.
A1I support everything the other guys have written and would like to add- you should see a naturopath who can recommend a special menu for you by your taste. sometimes certain food products are bad for us and we don't even know it... eating what is good for you specifically can really help you feel good about yourself and help you lose weight. good luck!
A2My advise is exercise. No diets or pills will help with obesity because when quite or legg your weight will be back, but exercise help keep your weight down and help with your health. overall exercise is the best method in losing weight and being health.
A3It’s a good idea to lose weight in a natural way instead of depending on diet pills. Over-the-counter medication is no good for your health also. Avoid junk, oily and fried food and try to have whole grains and fibre in your diet. Use Olive oil for cooking. Fats found in nuts and seeds are good for your health. Do exercises regularly including resistance training and you will be amazed with the results.

Q. I need some suggestion.

Four months back I was diagnosed with ADHD and have seen little improvement with neither Strattera nor Adderall. But I didn’t get complete cure and losing confidence to take those meds. I need some suggestion.
A1i think williams41 is right... telling your doctor is the appropriate step. he can decide you need to enlarge your dose and check for changes in blood levels of it. he might decide to change your medication.
i recommend getting Omega-3 fatty acids. it is known to be helpful.
A2Each and Every person is different from one another, some people react well to some drug and others don't, I advise you to see your doctor and keep trying with some other meds. There are so many meds that can help you. I hope you will do and get well soon.

Q. I need some suggestion.

This is Saloni,16 years old female. Most of the days, I’m having pimples on my face. I tried so many meds and ointment but all are waste. They do not eliminate pimples, instead of that I got more. I am very upset; I hesitate to go out with by bf. My mom convinces me, to use Chinese meds but I’m not interested. I need some suggestion.
A1i had this problem as a youngster. i think reducing stress and regularly cleaning your face is key. the sun can help as well.
A2Hi baby, Chinese medicine is usually a bunch of herbs that are good for you anyways. It shouldn't be harmful unless you're allergic. And it really works, I always say that American medicine is good for antibiotics and pain relievers, but Chinese meds are good if you really want to be healed naturally and effectively. There are many Chinese herbal soups which really make Pimples disappear, I tired it and got good result. Try it...

Q. Is there anything else anyone can suggest to me? Please help me with Suggestions………..

I got married 5 and half years back and my loving wife had just passed away suddenly due to an accident. I don't have many friends and I have signed up for bereavement counseling and still waiting for it. I get in to deep depression and no one is thee to pacify me. Is there anything else anyone can suggest to me? Please help me with Suggestions………..
A1I feel sorry for the sudden demise of your beloved wife. I know that words now will have little relief for you. I have seen many who had lost their loved ones and I feel you are not alone. I have seen them only recovering by time and only time. As you have very less friends please look out to work with your hobbies and if possible join any club where you can make some friends and this will definitely help. I remember of my friend who lost her girl friend and soon he was shifted to other town for his work and he started to forget her soon, as anything which would make her remembrance was not there and today he is married and has one child and is happy, but those days he was terrible on his head.
A2I am sorry for your loss. Death is hard to deal with at any time but I feel when it is sudden and unexpected it is worse. I would like to begin by suggest seeing your doctor, it sounds as if you could use antideppresants to at least help you for awhile as you learn to cope with your loss. I suggest following up on the counciling, not to defend them BUT I know in today's fast paced world sometimes things get overlooked and misplaced. Explain to them you are having a very difficult time and need to be seen as soon as possible. Also check online there may be support groups in your area that deal with loss of loved ones that you could go to and on this site you will find people willing to listen. Please feel free to email me if you would like...I can't say I understand what you are going through b/c I never lost a spouse but I can listen! And for me when I face anything I rely on my faith. I am here if I can help...God Bless
