Q. I am trying to come out of my alcoholic addiction but it’s in vain.

I am trying to come out of my alcoholic addiction but it’s in vain. I ask myself why? Is alcoholism inherited?
A1Derik;; I dont know what you are doing for your addiction but I will give you some pointers===You have to go into recovery.try a 30 day in-patiant re-hab so that you can detox your body,If you cant do that call alcoholics anonymous--and start going to meetings every day--if you cant do that here is a web site where you can go to meetings on line(IN THE ROOMS.com)--The key to recovery is that you cant do it by yourself, because you are powerless over your addiction,it has nothing to do with how strong your will is. If you have a family they have to help you stay sober one day at a time, find someone at a meeting that will be your sponsor(friend)they will help you to get well---mrfoot56
A2I appreciate your efforts to come out from such an enemy who spoils your families’ peace and happiness. Research shows that the risk for developing alcoholism does indeed run in families. The genes a person inherits partially explain this pattern, but lifestyle is also a factor. Currently, researchers are working to discover the actual genes that put people at risk for alcoholism. Your friends, the amount of stress in your life, and how readily available alcohol are also the factors that may increase your risk for alcoholism. But remember: Risk is not destiny. Just because alcoholism tends to run in families doesn't mean that a child of an alcoholic parent will automatically become an alcoholic too. Some people develop alcoholism even though no one in their family has a drinking problem. By the same token, not all children of alcoholic families get into trouble with alcohol.

Q. I am showing signs of depression.how did I cope to come out of the stress?

From my childhood I have showed interest in dancing and have got several prizes in the dance competition. Of late, I am showing signs of depression. I remember the day when I had to rehearsal for the huge dance competition being organized by the leading music corporation. I wasn’t able to go with the steps correctly due to the stress which I have very recently developed. I did see some participants who enjoyed good mood and danced well. The dance reflected their happiness. They were not at all stressed rather they were enjoying. I have shared this with my dad and he has helped me to reduce my stress and motivated me with self confidence. With my dad’s help I slowly developed positive vibes and started to practice with more energy. The fire in me at last made me to win the competition though in the mid of the practice session I again felt the stress which made me depressed but I helped myself. This has made me popular and I get offers from leading movie directors and channels. Though this happened with my hard work, I tend to think what made me stressed up and how did I cope to come out of the stress?
AA stress is required to make you alert and if you are not able to hold this alertness then this stress will rise. The alerted person with the first sign of stress will make the course of stress to deviate to a positive side. If the stress is taken in the negative aspect then it may overrun you. When you discussed with your father he helped to boost your confidence thereby boosting your alertness. Next time you have yourself boosted the alertness to this positive role which motivated you. Good Luck!

Q. can dairy allergy come out as asthma attack?

can only people who suffer from asthma get breathing attacks or can it also be like this one-time-attack for healthy people??
A1thanks everyone!
A2asthma is an allergic reaction by definition. if you are allergic t dairy - it can cause an asthma attack and from now on it won't go away. but mind you- there is a big difference between being allergic and intolerance. if what you have is lactose intolerance - it won't cause an asthma attack. but on't take a chance and check it out.
A3 YES--you could be allergic to dairy products,an other things get a pulmonary dr to take test to find out--most people do not just have one attack with asthma--asthma is a serious disease go to the dr,i know i am a retired respiratory therapist 25yrs.

Q. I feel sorry for my problem and want to come out of this disorder fully. Is that possible?

I am a bipolar. I am the only son for my parents. I have two sisters. My parents and sisters are taking nice care of me. In my early stages of bipolar when I behaved badly, they always stood by my side and avoided problems to a great extent. I feel sorry for my problem and want to come out of this disorder fully. Is that possible?
A1You can recover in terms of remission, as of yet there is no cure for bipolar. If you activly persue treatment and take your meds regularily, along with plenty of excercise, proper diet, plenty of sleep and try some meditation etc (like Davis said) you will feel pretty good and your family will respect your efforts. In the times that you are not well they will be patient because they know how hard you are working on being well... They obviously love you very much and want you to be okay... you can and will be...
A2Sure, it’s a good sign of your recovery and the most important part is that your family is caring for you. And when it makes you think that you hurt someone, it is clear that you are recovering from the disorder. Engage yourself in physical activity like jogging, swimming, shuttle etc. to feel better and healthy. This will definitely calm your mood swings and make you normal. Also set a standard time for sleep and wake-up. Concentrate in your diet with more fruits and vegetables and cut down on smoking and alcohol to get better results. The most important thing is to reduce the stress by doing all above activities and thinking how to do them will itself reduce moods swing and will have negative effect on bipolar progression. Take your medicines as prescribed and be regular to doctor.

Q. This makes me to think how babies come out retarded and what the causes of retardation in babies are.

My heart some time trembles when I see some parents dedicating their whole life for their retarded babies whom they gave birth after few years of their marriage. This makes me to think how babies come out retarded and what the causes of retardation in babies are. Is it not in our hands?
A1Hi there,

My opinion is that we are all perfect - just the way we are regardless of whether we are well or ill, beautiful or ugly, nice or mean. There is a perfect balance in the Universe – we cannot have positive without the negative – to think otherwise is to be ignorant. There is no a curse without a blessing nor a blessing without a curse. We are all part of the divine matrix – a matrix of love (as Dr Demartini likes to call it). The reason we don’t see any of this is only because we don’t look.

Please think about your question – whatever answer I could give – it would never satisfy you and it would not change what is.

My personal view is that we don't choose our babies – our babies choose us. There is a reason why 'your baby' wanted you to be her/his parent. Your baby may have ‘felt’ that you would be the perfect parents to shower them with love, affection and patience – everything that a child with autisms requires. Or perhaps, it is something that you (your so
A2This situation is terrible of course. But this situation always proves the world about the motherly love. Some of the reasons could be parent’s excessive drinking, smoking, drug taking or abuse to the stomach or even stress can hurt the baby. Some times there is an imbalance in your body and it affects the baby. Also very common is a lack of oxygen during the birthing process. This, very often, will lead to cerebral palsy. If you can watch a documentary about the beginning of life, you would see that there are billions of things that can go 'wrong'. This would include genes not in their 'proper' place. This is why it is called "The Miracle of Life". I am not a religious person, but this may be your calling in life; your challenge; call it the way you like.

Q. Is it normal to have abused alcohal. go threw 3 years of a.a. and come out of it a controled drinker?

ANo. Alcoholism is a lifetime disease. If you go through rehab and AA you can come out clean but you can never drink any alcohol ever again.
