Q. How does coffee affect a diet?

does it have an affect on metabolism? on losing weight?
AWell, coffee can increase and to accelerate the beginning of burning fat during exercise (usually only after 20-30 minutes of exercise), but the overall effect is not that substantial. YOu should remember that it makes your kidney to produce more urine, so you should drink more.

Q. What is better for you tea or coffee?

I like to drink both tea and coffee, but which is healthier for me and has less caffeine?
A1tea is much better than coffee because tea has antioxidants,which help the body,coffee does not and coffee has more caffine than tea.
A2Daily cups of coffee have been linked to a reduced risk of Parkinson's disease, liver cancer, gallstones and type 2 diabetes. In addition, green tea and white tea have been touted for their health benefits. There is the strong suggestion that the antioxidants in tea -- whether it's black, green or white -- have health benefits. In terms of caffeine, coffee has the most followed by black tea, green tea and white tea.

Q. Is coffee so harmful?

I am Saloni, 17 and a keen coffee-lover. Now-a-days, I drink lot of coffee which my brother has noticed and advised me to minimize the quantity. He also blames coffee for heart diseases and addiction status of the person. Is coffee so harmful?
A1The last response says "coffee is bad for you". This response gives no basis for its conclusion.

Coffee is served in hospitals. If coffee was really bad for you, then hospitals are doing bad things to patients and would have been sued for malpractice. A judge would laugh you right out of court for trying.

There are no FDA health warnings on coffee.

Coffee is served in restaurants everywhere in the world. Its everywhere in the work place. There aren't any rules concerning coffee.

Q. Whats the harm in drinking coffee?

I drink coffee all day long and love it! My friends say I'm addicted and should cut back. But what is the harm in drinking coffee?
A1drinking coffee doesn't cause any significant damage, the only thing I can think of, is that when it is too much, coffe relax your exofagus esfinter, and stomach content could come out causing heartburn.
A2i used to drink alot of coffee ... & energy drinks since i cut back to a cup in the morning i feel much more clear headed & more energy& serenity ..believe it or not ...it also dehydrates you .
A3I didnt realize caffiene did so much, (as i sip on my latte). I am like Ann, and drink coffee all day, probably mildly addicted

Q. Can I drink coffee during my pregnancy?

During my pregnancy I keep on hearing not to eat this and that since isn't healthy for my baby. Can I drink coffee or is that bad too?
A1Studies show that consuming a moderate amount of coffee (up to 200 milligrams a day), doesn't hurt the development of the pregnancy. It is recommended that the amount consumed isn't more than 2-3 cups of coffee per day.
A2It's ok to drink moderate amounts of coffee during your pregnancy. However also remember that other things can contain caffeine as well such as cocoa and sodas and therefore its important to stay away from too much caffeine in general and not just coffee.

Q. Is it true that more cups of coffee can help avoid snack attacks??

I love having a snack between meals- but way too much. Is it true that black coffee can replace the feeling that a snack gives and even calm the fake hunger feeling for a while??
A1fruits- not very dietetic but at least healthy. carrots can be a good idea too. if you'll eat healthy snacks during the day you won't eat much at lunch and dinner time.

A3you cam use anthing i.e. water,soda and juice,but coffee has alot of caffine,you can also try a couple of crackers (plain).or even a piece of candy or gum.

Q. I took vitamin B on an empty stomack and then had coffee. it gave me a terrible Stomach ache. why?

A1hi again! you should take them right after a meal. those pills are vary concentrated and some of the B vitamins are acidic. taking it without eating first will get your stomach protesting ...as you well saw...
A2The B vitamins are water soluble. They are not stored in the body as are beta carotene and Vitamin E. B complex must be taken with food already in the stomach. If taken on an empty stomach, pain and nausea are not uncommon. The use of B complex in a dose of 100 mg. once to three times a day with meals is recommended per patient tolerance. If the B complex is being absorbed effectively, the urine will be bright yellow and have a pungent smell due to the riboflavonoids present.
