We requested figures for the number of medically assisted births and found that not all health boards correlated figures for how many women had deliveries involving
ventouse, forceps or episiotomies.

ventouse delivery (46.3%) and it was statistically significant as 'p' value was < 0.01.
At present, UK guidelines say women having an epidural should stay upright in the second stage of labour to reduce the chance they will need
ventouse or forceps.
A
ventouse application to assist delivery was planned in an attempt to limit the maternal valsalva and stress associated with expulsive efforts.
[sup][14] While
ventouse delivery without episiotomy was a significant risk factor with an OR of 3 [sup][15] that with routine episiotomy was not.
The number of pregnancies and vaginal deliveries impact the woman's predisposition to developing SUI, including "the length of the second stage of delivery (i.e., quick or protracted with many hours of pushing), whether instruments such as forceps or
ventouse were used, whether there was a tear and/or stitches" (Stewart, 2010, p.
magnesium sulphate), performance of manual removal of placenta, removal of retained products of conception (manual vacuum aspiration or dilation and curettage [DandC]), assisted vaginal delivery (preferably
ventouse) and neonatal resuscitation with bag and mask.
Mode of delivery was classified into four classes--normal (vaginal), assisted vaginal delivery (suction or
ventouse), elective, and emergency caesarean deliveries.
But the birth wasn't without its complications and a doctor had to be brought in to extract the baby by
ventouse extraction.
The study reveals that birth is experienced as significant and joyous across professional groups, different types of births and locations with or without technological interventions (home, hospital, forceps and
Ventouse, premature birth, transfer from home to hospital due to slow progress, epidural birth, induction and augmentation of labour).
But rather than actually battling up Cap
Ventouse, they will be completing their own personal Tours at the Elvet Bridge office in aid of Durham Hospital Radio.
It is extremely tempting to discard the
ventouse and grab the forceps.
