1. the lesion produced by telangiectasia, which may be present as a coarse or fine red line or as a punctum with radiating limbs (spider).

HD is also associated with several immune disorders such as systemic lupus erythomatosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis, ataxia telangiectasis and other congenital immunodeficiency disorders.
Idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectasis (IRT) must be differentiated from other systemic and ocular diseases associated with telangiectasias like diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, Eale's disease, retinopathy of prematurity, or sickle cell retinopathy.
Reported risk factors have been diabetes, older and younger age (neonates) and feeding tubes in neuromuscular disease patients including ataxia telangiectasis patients [1].
