Corynebacterium diphtheriae, used as an active immunizing agent, generally in mixtures with tetanus toxoid and pertussis vaccine (DTP) or with tetanus toxoid alone (
DT for pediatric use and
Td, which contains less diphtheria toxoid, for adult use).
