Pulmonology The separation of an aberrant pulmonary lobe from the pulmonary parenchyma by pleura with a vascular supply arising directly from the aorta; the venous drainage is by the azygous or hemiazygous veins; SC is often associated with diaphragmatic hernias and GI malformations; lung tissue may be normal or inflamed.
