crinoid
any echinoderm of the class Crinoidea, including the present-day feather stars and sea lilies. They are common fossils from the CAMBRIAN PERIOD throughout geological history, and are mainly sedentary. Antodon is free-living in British waters.Collins Dictionary of Biology, 3rd ed. © W. G.
