A nipple pulled inward by an underlying tumour or inflammation which, in the case of breast CA, may be accompanied by a peau d’orange appearance of the surrounding skin. Retracted nipples may also be red, ulcerated, have a scaly surface and histologically demonstrate Paget’s disease of the breast
