For four of the soil orders with the largest sample sizes (Brown, Pallie, Recent and
Podzols), a series of one-way analyses of variance (ANOVA) were conducted to determine differences in [Al.sub.KCl] concentrations between depths within a soil order and among soil orders for a depth zone.

The Soil Atlas Map of Europe, shows that Albeluvisol is the most common soil in Europe (15%), whilst
Podzol is a dominant soil of the northern latitude (14%).
Nevertheless, the survey samples showed that the water table levels were shallower than 50 cm in the floodplains, providing the necessary data for the hydrological soil group acquisition of the
Podzols, according to (Sartori et al.
Territories of water-bearing units and their slopes: 1--Residues are formed by sandy loams, brownish-ashy
podzol surface-clayed soil, under arable land; 2--Slopes of water-bearing units composed by forrest-like sandy loam soils and loamy soils, with brownish-ashy surface-clayed washed-out soils, under ploughed field and construction.

Very low productivity is characteristic of natural grasslands formed on wet and peaty
podzols. These natural grasslands have relatively good hay yield, when the wet/peaty
podzol is transformed into (sod-)podzolic gley-soils.
Micromorphological investigation on development of
podzol in Amazon basin.
[129] evaluated the effect of soil type on carbohydrate content and found that carbohydrate content was generally higher in Cambisol than
Podzol. Sugars were enriched in mineral-bound fractions of organic matter, often with microbial monosaccharides.
Short- term effects of manipulated increase in acid deposition on soil, soil solution chemistry and fine roots of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) stand on a
