A plenary licensed physician assigned by a supervising physician in case of temporary absence, whose scope of practice encompasses duties assigned to a physician assistant.

For appropriate continuity of care, a patient should be able to seek (with relative ease) follow-up care or information from the physician (or a mutually acceptable physician designee) who has established a patient-physician relationship resulting from a previous telemedicine encounter.
