Modulation of melanogenic protein expression during the switch from euto
pheomelanogenesis. J.
Once melanin biosynthesis is completed to conduct either eu-or
pheomelanogenesis within melanosomes, they then move along dendritic processes and are transferred to surrounding keratinocytes in normal skin [26-28].
The switch between eumelanogenesis and
pheomelanogenesis is also the main factor whose mechanism has drawn considerable attention and is clearly complex (Barsh et al., 2000).
In
pheomelanogenesis, vesiculoglobular bodies are incorporated into stage I melanosomes, while at stage II melanosome pheomelanin is deposited in the vesiculoglobular bodies.
