They added: "We are the lowest paid ambulance staff in the whole of the UK and the only region of the UK where paramedics are not on the nationally agreed
pay band - band 6."
The BEIS committee had asked for companies' lowest
pay band to be included in pay ratio reporting requirements - rather than the median - and for all firms with over 250 employees to be involved, rather than just listed companies.

Pay Band do not start with a pay to meet the consumption requirement for a NORMAL HUMAN LIVING (90,000 in 2018); but those have reached towards the end of the career from the 2nd
Pay Band onwards receive a pay more than the 2018 consumption rate.
"Our consultant body have a high percentage of men and they are on the highest
pay band that we have.
After months of secret negotiations a pay offer was agreed to pay half of NHS staff at the top of their
pay band a rise of 6.5% over three years.
Employees fall under this
pay band: Security guard, Junior Attendant, Driver etc.
Employees in
pay band 3 (PS16,800 to PS19,655) will pay the same while those in higher
pay bands (PS19,217 and above) will pay extra to use staff car parks.
Although the scheme has been challenged in the courts, it stands up to scrutiny as the only systematic way to measure NHS jobs against each other, and determine the correct
pay band for staff undertaking different roles.
Unison said: "The Government rejected this and instead decided to give 1% to those on top of their
pay band."
The Delivery Team comprises four members at executive Band 2 level, one at Management Band 1 level and is headed by a member of the Senior Civil Service at
pay band 1.
Sarah Hay, an NHS worker of Redcar, said: "We are being seen as second rate nurses who don't deserve the same pay as other nurses in other areas and the fact that Lansley would keep managers on the same high
pay band to retain 'the best' to implement the changes is just another smack in the mouth for us."
