Prussian blue

A solution of potassium ferric hexacyanoferrate, used to treat thallium poisoning and to remove radiocaesium from the body.

Prussian blue

The common name of potassium ferric hexacyanoferrate, a compound approved in the United States for treatment of thallium poisoning. Prussian blue gets its name from the fact that it was first used by artists in 1704 as a dark blue pigment for oil paints. It has also been used in laundry bluing and fabric printing.
