The effects and side-effects of an
overcorrection procedure applied by parents of severely emotionally disturbed children in a home environment.
Surgical outcomes to the right of PLANO (see Figure 2) represent
overcorrections by the surgeon; the patient is now hyperopic with a cornea that is too flat.
One response to the "
overcorrection" defense is to look at whether something outside the driver's control caused the vehicle to "overreact." For example, what if the driver hit strong side winds while traveling at freeway speed?
Again, this
overcorrection could have been requested when submitting the case.
Haber (1980) found Yates' correction to be in most instances an
overcorrection, and proposed a simplified form of Cochran's (1942) elaborate continuity-correction process, which is time-consuming and has been little used.
The regulator will try to correct for this over-pressure condition by closing a control element, but the smallest movement results in an
overcorrection. Choice of pilot will influence the lower operating limit to some degree, however, stiffness of a controlling element will be the primary governing factor.
Overcorrection. Some users of highly precise, easily calibrated analyzers may attempt to investigate and even correct smaller shifts, such as those between 1.0 and 1.5 SDI.
These unsystematic earnings are then used to calculate the measure of unanticipated earnings variation within each occupation (again, separately for men and women).(6) This method would lead to an
overcorrection in estimating the variation in each occupation.
Thousands of people will lose jobs because of the market overreaction and
overcorrection. Many in the middle class - always precariously perched - could sink into the legions of Mexico's working poor.
Overcorrection was a problem for a few people--they became farsighted.
The main reason for the
overcorrection was the almost complete stoppage of construction.
However, the balance is a delicate one; we must guard against
overcorrection to avoid repressing minority rights.
