Additionally, the upregulation ([2.sup.-[DELTA][DELTA]Ct]) of the ALPL (alkaline phosphatase) gene in response to osteogenic stimulation was also significant in relation to PD-BS (r = 0.470, p = 0.020), but not PD (r = 0.026).
When considered at all time points, osteogenic stimulation caused the upregulation of several (24) genes, but only four were reduced (Table 1).
