ossifying fibromyxoid tumour of soft parts

A rare (100 cases reported in the world literature) soft-tissue tumour of uncertain histogenesis, currently thought to be of neural, possibly Schwann cell, origin. OFMT is slow growing, of intermediate malignant potential, and arises in the deep subcutis or skeletal muscle of the extremities, slightly more common in males, average age 50.
