Organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) have been used worldwide, particularly in Africa for several decades.
We also assessed the robustness of the associations in single
organochlorine models.
Exposure to
organochlorine residues from past applications can become chronic for human health [3, 4].

Only one combination showed a statistically significant pattern: higher rates of autism for mothers who were exposed to a group of chemicals called
organochlorines during their first trimester of pregnancy.
Receding glaciers in the Swiss Alps are releasing high levels of long-trapped 'legacy pollutants' such as persistent organic pollutants,
organochlorine pesticides and synthetic musk fragrances into nearby lakes and ecosystems.
