"A proportion of any reduction will be through
natural wastage as employees retire, or not replacing staff who leave.
"Of the 4500 jobs we have shed since 2004,
natural wastage has accounted for 2793."
Treasurer Stuart Crow said: "There will be a certain number of job losses, probably between 20 and 30, but they will take place over a number of years and be
natural wastage."
We have been fully consulted and we are confident that the vast majority of job losses will be dealt with through
natural wastage and redeployment."
'By the end of the year we will have no more than 2,500 staff offshore and that will be managed through
natural wastage and not redundancy.'
Chief constable Chris Sims said the proposals would be met through
natural wastage and the controversial A19 process, which sees officers with 30 years or more experience forced to retire.
The changes will come into force between next April and 2017 - and will lead to the loss of 102 full-time firefighting posts, they say through
