A case of low grade appendiceal
mucinous neoplasm (LAMN) presented with right inguinal hernia with
mucinous cystadenoma of the appendix as content.
The examination of frozen sections established the diagnosis of serous or
mucinous BOT with 100% accuracy.
A rare case of incidental
mucinous adenocarcinoma with osseous metaplasia associated with cysts of the presacral space.
Benign serous cyst was the commonest benign tumour followed by mature cystic teratoma and
mucinous cyst.
The most common differential diagnoses of urachal
mucinous cystadenoma include villous adenoma,
mucinous cystic tumor of low malignant potential (MCTLMP), and
mucinous cystadenocarcinoma.
The mucin is diastase and hyaluronidase resistant sialidase labile, thus making it nonsulfated sialomucin and distinguishable from hyaluronidasesensitive sulphomucin from other sweat gland tumors, basal cell carcinoma, lacrimal gland tumors, and metastatic
mucinous adenocarcinoma of the gastrointestinal tract.
(18) MCN is typically a solitary lesion, so if additional cystic pancreatic lesions are present, intraductal papillary
mucinous neoplasm or pseudocyst should be considered as an alternative diagnosis.
Case of
mucinous adenocarcinoma with porcelain gallbladder.
In almost all cases, confirmation of the diagnosis requires detection at laparotomy (14) or laparoscopy (28) of the jelly-like as-cites with
mucinous peritoneal implants.
Histopathological examination confirmed the presence of prostatic adenocarcinoma with extraluminal
mucinous pools involving >50% of the tumor volume (Figure 5).
The number of patients with stage II medullary,
mucinous carcinoma were significantly higher than the other stages (p=0.02).
