retroviruses of the murine leukemia-sarcoma complex that produce leukemia and sometimes lymphosarcomas in mice, including the Abelson, Gross, Moloney, Friend, and Rauscher strains of virus; they have been isolated from inbred mice having a high incidence of spontaneous lymphoid leukemia.
