The apparent activation energy of the mechanical mixture was calculated to be 59 [+ or -] 7 kJ/mol.
For the reduction of 2.5 wt% Fe_Citrate, 2.0 wt% Fe_Nitrate, 7.2 wt% Fe_Nitrate, and the mechanical mixture [Fe.sub.2][O.sub.3]/SBA-15, reduction degree [alpha] curves were analyzed.
For the mechanical mixture [Fe.sub.2][O.sub.3]/SBA-15, an R3 model was a suitable reaction model.
The mechanical mixture [Fe.sub.2][O.sub.3]/SBA-15 exhibited a higher topological dimension.
Not only for the [Fe.sub.x][O.sub.y]/SBA-15 samples but also for the mechanical mixture [Fe.sub.2][O.sub.3]/SBA-15, results from sample characterization agreed with those from kinetic analysis.
Apparently, for both supported systems and the mechanical mixture, the results of conventional characterization and solid-state kinetic analysis corroborated each other.
