lupus psychosis

lupus psychosis

Neurology A condition seen in 12% to 52% of Pts with SLE, broadly defined to include delusional and severe affective disease Clinical Frank psychosis, atypical psychosis, schizophreniform disorder, and severe affective disorders–eg, major depression and anxiety or panic disorders; some authors argue that major depression, anxiety, or panic may be caused by corticosteroids or may simply represent an appropriate reaction to the illness rather than genuine LP; LP, if it exists, is attributed to an antibody to P protein, a polypeptide in ribosomal phosphoproteins.
