By observing the nutrient foramina (a kind of tubular passage on cortex) on palmar and dorsal sides of the
lunate images layer by layer, the number of nutrient foramina with/without enhanced arteries was recorded [Figure 1].
Wrists with a Type II
lunate are larger in terms of length and width (Sagerman et al., 1995; Dyankova et al., 2007).
(4) The diagnosis relies heavily on clinical examination and secondary radiographic studies, and has been classified based on pathoanatomical change resulting from progressive deterioration of the TFCC, as well as degenerative changes within the dome of the ulnar head,
lunate, triquetrum, and lunotriquetral ligament (LTIL).
Diagnosis: Dorsal rays XI,9 (1 female paratype with XI1,9); anal rays 111,9; pectoral rays 15; lateral line scales 17+7; median predorsal scales 5; horizontal rows of scales on cheek 2; gill rakers 13-15; body depth 2.85-3.40 in SL; body width 1.95-2.15 in body depth; head length 2.75-2.90 in SL; snout length 4.1-4.4 in head length; pelvic fin short, not reaching the base of the anal fin, 4.15-4.65 in SL; caudal fin rounded to truncate in females and moderately to strongly
lunate in males, caudal concavity as great as 0.8 in head; eye large, orbit diameter 3.55-3.90 in head length.
In Lichtman stage II of disease, sclerosis of the
lunate and/or early collapse of the
lunate radial border may appear.
Cetorhinus maximus is also characterized by having large gill slits that nearly encircle the head, numerous long, filamentous dermal denticle gill takers lining the anterior and posterior sides of each branchial arch, a strongly pointed snout and large subterminal mouth with numerous small, monocuspid teeth, strong lateral keels on the caudal peduncle and a large
lunate caudal fin (Compagno, 2001).
Constantinescu (2005) describes the parotid gland of
lunate shape.
Carpal dislocations are wrist injuries and
Lunate dislocation is its severe form.
Although, there are many cases of trans-scaphoid perilunate fracture dislocations in the literature, to the best of our knowledge, this is the first case describing the
lunate in middle third of forearm and proximal part of the scaphoid in distal part.
The distal radius articular surface creates a cup-like structure into which the
lunate fits.
Lunate ceilings cover the temple, which are surrounded by corridors for pilgrims to circle the site.
