Although isolated PLSVC is thought to be a benign vascular variant and has good prognosis, some authors have asserted that fetal
karyotyping should be routinely offered whenever PLSVC is detected prenatally, based on the possibility of missing some cardiac anomalies and obscure extracardiac anomalies suggesting aneuploidy (16,17).
Conventional
karyotyping and subtelomeric FISH following amniocentesis at 17 weeks gestation revealed normal results.
Then 2-4 ml venous blood was collected in sodium heparinised vacutainer with aseptic precautions and sent for
karyotyping.
For chromosome analysis,
karyotyping is advised, which is an ordered pairing of homologous chromosomes.7 The changes in the number or structure of the chromosomes can be identified with the help of this analysis (
Karyotyping).
Further, through fine
karyotyping analysis, each individual somatic metaphase chromosome can be easily identified (He et al., 2015).
A general approach to investigation of DSD includes
karyotyping and locating gonads by palpation, ultrasound or other imaging techniques.
G-banded
karyotyping of placental tissue revealed a 48,XXX,+18 karyotype (Figure 3(a)).
Many mutations and
karyotyping abnormalities are associated with AML prognosis.
Quantitative
karyotyping and dual-color FISH mapping of 5S and 18S-25S rDNA probes in the cultivated Phaseolus species (Leguminosae).
The couple was offered fetal
karyotyping. They opted for termination of the pregnancy.
[3,4] Conventional
karyotyping has been the gold standard for the cytogenetic analysis of products of SM.
