Outcomes after induction failure in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Prognostic factors for leukemic induction failure in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and outcome after salvage therapy: the FRALLE 93 study.
Patients were included if they fulfilled at least one of the following criteria defining relapsed/refractory AML: (1) primary induction failure after 2 or more cycles of chemotherapy, (2) first early relapse after a remission duration of fewer than 6 months, (3) first relapse after a remission duration of more than 6 months and refractory to salvage combination chemotherapy that was useful in the first induction therapy, (4) second or subsequent relapse, and (5) extramedullary leukemia.

induction failure in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia treated with all-trans retinoic acid and idarubicin.
To decrease the
induction failure, cervical ripening by any methods is the answer.
Rate of induction failure was 1.9 times higher in women with Bishop score of 5 or less (84%) versus (18%) in women with favourable cervix.
Preterm women with a poor Bishop score are also one of the identified groups with high induction failure.13 However our results are in contrast to these findings with a weak association of preterm delivery with failed induction.
(11) In cases of
induction failure, reinduction with repeat "7+3" or an alternative regimen may be tried.
Because I'd seen it before, the
induction failure in the Mooney was less startling, but clearly the airplane wasn't going to maintain 17,500 feet comfortably.
Cervical repairing by physical or pharmacological interventions helps to decrease the
induction failure (1, 2).
As this study comprised mostly of young primigravidae, it was seen that most had unfavourable cervix and
induction failure and moreover the duration of labour was more in comparison with multigravida patients.
