Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer Thickness in Myopic, Emmetropic, and
Hyperopic Children.
The eyes were also analyzed separately with
hyperopic errors (29 eyes) and with mixed astigmatism (10 eyes).
In the mild myopic and
hyperopic groups, we found the foveal retinal and parafoveal thicknesses were significantly greater 1 day after surgery ( t = 4.301, P = 0.000; t = 2.736; P = 0.005, respectively), but not 3 days or 1 week after surgery ( P > 0.05).
On refraction, the
hyperopic correction increased from + 1.50Ds to + 3.00Ds 20/30 with an Add of still +1.50Ds 20/20 both eyes.
Examination of the association between moderate hyperopia and independent variables showed, after adjustment for confounding factors, that girls were 39% more
hyperopic than boys RP = 1.41(95% CI, 1.02-1.90) and White were 66% more
hyperopic than Black RP = 1.66(95% CI, 1.04-2.66).
The mean target spherical refraction was -1.11 [+ or -] 0.17 diopters (myopic) and the mean achieved spherical refraction was 1.18 [+ or -] 0.87 diopters (
hyperopic) resulting in a mean
hyperopic shift of 2.2 diopters.
There were 67 (33.5%) myopic eyes, 60 (30.0%) emmetropic eyes, and 73 (36.5%)
hyperopic eyes.
Astigmatism was seen in 22.7% of the cases which includes Myopic and
Hyperopic Astigmatism and Hypermetropia was seen in 14.4% of the cases.
Washington, April 1 ( ANI ): An emerging technique called
hyperopic orthokeratology (OK) may provide a new alternative for restoring near vision without the need for glasses, according to a study.
Therefore, we suggest that sleep disturbances due to high altitudes could also be caused by increases in proinflammatory cytokines from several cells, such as skeletal muscle and immune cells, in association with the capillary leakage or repeated wakening aspects of AMS, which usually occur concurrently with the
hyperopic phase of periodic breathing.
