A descriptor for a gull wing-like pattern with a broad, flat and gently curved V shape
Imaging
(1) A double curved shadow seen on a plain lateral film of the entire pelvis in either fracture-dislocation of the posterior acetabular rim or dislocation of the femoral head; the 2 wings are contributed by the intact and fractured acetabulum
(2) An appearance caused by erosive osteoarthritis of the interphalangeal joints
Immunology The presence of 2 distinct and connected, relatively flat precipitin arcs in a serum protein electrophoresis (SPEP), typically seen in lambda light chain myeloma or IgD or IgE myelomas
Microbiology The classic high-power light microscopic morphology of gently curved gram-negative Helicobacter and Campylobacter species
