formulary

Originally, a collection of formulas used in the preparation of medicines, but now used for a book of drug actions, side effects and dosage for the use of prescribing doctors. The British National Formulary , produced at regular intervals by the British Medical Association and the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, is an attempt to encourage rational and cost-effective prescribing by doctors.
