Parasitization by any of the flukes of the genus Fasciolopsis.

fasciolopsiasis

Intestinal infection with the largest human fluke parasite, Fasciolopsis buski , that may be up to 7.5 cm long. The condition is common in rural China and South-east Asia and is acquired by eating water plants contaminated with the larvae. Mild infections cause diarrhoea and abdominal discomfort. Heavy infections may be fatal.
