Expression of CD117 (c-kit) receptor in
dysgerminoma of the ovary: diagnostic and therapeutic implications.
Most common combination is that of
Dysgerminoma & Yolk sac tumour.
Quirk and Natarajan have reported that approximately 75% of women with a
dysgerminoma present with clinical stage Ia disease, a finding similar to our case.

Dysgerminoma was the most common malignant germ cell tumour followed by mixed germ cell tumours.
This tumour was a combination of
Dysgerminoma and Embryonal carcinoma.

The histologic profile of
dysgerminoma is stereotypic and identical to that of testicular seminoma and midline germinomas.
In present study; out of all benign masses 53% were simple follicular cyst and out of all malignant masses 65% were serous cystadenocarcinoma and 35% were
dysgerminoma. It was similarly reported by Farooq et al.
Specific diagnoses and clear descriptions or illustrations do reveal the existence of rare cases of nonteratomatous GCTs, including
dysgerminoma, yolk sac tumor, and embryonal carcinoma.
Apart from lymphatic endothelial cells, expression of podoplanin in tumor cells has been reported in some cancer types including squamous cell carcinoma in the lung, (7-10) malignant mesothelioma, (11,12) Kaposi sarcoma, angiosarcoma, (13) hemangioblastoma, (14)
dysgerminoma, (7) and brain tumors.
