Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as
Diclofenac can be used to alleviate the pain, swelling and stiffness caused by rheumatoid arthritis.
Bou Vorsak, Cambodia Programme Manager at Birdlife International, said the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries gave notice of the measures to stop the import, distribution, supply and use of
diclofenac in treating any kind of animal that could impact vultures.
Presenting a keynote paper on vulture conservation, Prof Dr Rhys Green of Cambridge University said new harmful drugs like
Diclofenac have flooded the market and that is why it is urgent to ban these drugs to save vultures.
The company added that
Diclofenac 50 mg powder oral solution is now promoted and commercialised in Russia under the brand Dialrapid by CSC Pharmaceuticals.
Results: When a single daily dose of 150mg aspirin is taken with three daily doses of
diclofenac sodium (50mg), results show that the anti-platelet effect of aspirin still remains.
Diclofenac sodium is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) commonly used in treating a variety of acute and chronic pain and inflammatory conditions.
Morten Schmidt, M.D., Ph.D., from Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark, and colleagues examined the cardiovascular risks of
diclofenac initiation versus initiation of other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, initiation of acetaminophen, and no initiation using data from a series of 252 nationwide cohort studies.
Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that's often used to treat arthritis and other painful joint conditions.
Those beginning
diclofenac had a 50% increased 30-day risk for a composite outcome of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) compared with individuals who didn't initiate an NSAID or acetaminophen (95% confidence interval for incidence rate ratio, 1.4-1.7).
Dr Morten Schmidt, Aarhus University Hospital, said: "It is time acknowledge the potential health risk of
diclofenac and to reduce its use."
With
diclofenac, the research team recognized an increased rate of health issues such as irregular heart beat or flutter, stroke, heart failure and heart attack.
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a topical
diclofenac gel (Voltaren Gel[R]) for arthritic joints amenable to topical treatment, as well as a
diclofenac patch (the Flector Patch[R] for acute pain from strains, sprains, and bruises) and a topical
diclofenac solution (Pennsaid[R]), indicated for knee OA.
